Call for Content – Issue 6

Submissions Banner - v6
This is a call for submissions for Issue #6 of GIMP Magazine.  We have been working hard on the writing, editing, layout and the production of Issue #5.  We do not yet have a release date set for Issue #5, but I can tell you that it is on its way and it is pretty spectacular.  Read on for more…

Our readers have asked for the following articles if you can contribute and help out for Issue #6:

  • CMYK profiling in gimp and how gimp can be used for professional printing
  • A tutorial section that is dedicated to the more obscure filters
  • More tutorials showing ALL the power of ONE tool at the time
  • More Pictures from not professional photographer[s]… were everybody can show there pictures, doesn’t matter how bad or good they are.

These are just some of the submission suggestions from our readers.  If you have a submissions suggestion please leave a comment at the bottom of this post.  We also have had a suggestion to do a complete GIMP 2.10 feature, and we can tell you that our team has written an outline and have reached out to the core GIMP development team.  We will keep you posted on this.  The outline looks amazing!

If you can not contribute writing or submitting your photography, consider making a donation to GIMP Magazine.  This helps us to cover the costs of running a free magazine.

Stay tuned for the release date for Issue #5 which is well under way.

Cheers
Steve

  1. I am just new to this. Have not even read an issue yet and am downloading Gimp for MacBookPro. I have tons of photos I have taken as an amateur photographer using HTCOne and Canon camera and previously SamsungGalaxyVibe. Please let me know what you need the pics for and where to submit them. I have some I would be happy to share.

  2. I always like ‘communication’ to the readers, so, would it be beneficial to the publication if there was a “FeedBack” column (or corner) for folks with ‘concerns or assistance’ for the usage of GIMP? Thanks Steve, and keep up the good work!

  5. If this is a “premier magazine” then it’s definitely a bad idea to start including “More Pictures from not professional photographer[s]… were everybody can show there pictures, doesn’t matter how bad or good they are.”. The internet is already full of bad content made with GIMP, this magazine is the last resort for trying to filter out the better part of it.

    My two eurocents 🙂
